The Latin Grammy Awards will be awarding NFT prizes.

The upcoming edition of the Latin Grammys will feature, for the first time, a collection of NFTs. The 64th edition of the Latin Grammys will have its first collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) after the Latin Recording Academy signed a three-year contract for NFTs related to the awards, through which the Latin Grammy Awards will be awarding NFT prizes.

The Recording Academy and OneOf, a green NFT token marketplace, have announced an exclusive partnership focused on the next three years of the Grammy Awards in an unsigned statement on the Grammy website. According to this collaboration, the Latin Grammy Awards will be awarding NFT prizes.

Details about specific NFT collections will be released in January, but they will celebrate both the awards and the nominees and recipients. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the assets will go towards funding the Recording Academy’s scholarship fund. OneOf, built on the Tezos blockchain, is specifically designed for musicians and listeners. Panos Panay, co-chair of the Recording Academy, said:

“As an Academy, we are always looking for ways to help artists discover new forms of creative expression while creating new revenue streams and ways for fans to interact with the artists they love. OneOf shares that vision, and we are proud to work with a sustainable NFT company.”

OneOf was launched in August. The platform has hosted previous tokens from Doja Cat, The Game, iHeartRadio Music Festival, and Alesso. Whitney Houston, TLC, and G-Eazy have also signed agreements for future releases with the company. The company raised $63 million before the launch.

The Latin Recording Academy and OneOf, the leading Web3 platform for music, lifestyle brands, and sports, announced today that artist Carlos Vives, a Latin Grammy winner, will be the creative director of the non-fungible token (NFT) collection for the 23rd Annual Latin Grammy Awards. Carlos Vives has won 15 Latin Grammys throughout his career. Additionally, he is nominated in five categories this year, including Record of the Year and Album of the Year.

This arises as part of an exclusive three-year alliance between the Latin Academy and OneOf. The NFT collection aims to celebrate Latin music and its talented graphic arts creators during the weeks leading up to the 23rd Annual Latin Grammy Awards, which will take place on November 17th in Las Vegas.

“It is a great pleasure to have the opportunity to select the artwork that will be included in the NFT collection for the 23rd Annual Latin Grammy Awards,” said Carlos Vives. “I am looking forward to fans enjoying this NFT release and all the fabulous works created by artists from around the world who represent Latin music and its communities so well.”

As the creative director of the NFT collection for the 23rd Annual Latin Grammy Awards this year, Vives aims to inform Latin music fans and generate a new wave of excitement for Web3.
